Treatment for Cluster Headache
Combined hormonal contraceptives modify cluster headache pathology by regulating hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis hormones, potentially reducing neurogenic inflammation and neurovascular trigger mechanisms. The estrogen-progestin combination can stabilize neuronal excitability and modulate neurotransmitter release, which may help mitigate the frequency and intensity of cluster headache episodes.
