brain freeze
Treatment for Cluster Headache
Brain freeze, or the rapid cooling of the palate, triggers a trigeminal nerve-mediated vasodilatory response that can interrupt the pathological neural hyperactivity associated with cluster headaches. By inducing a sudden, intense cold stimulus, it provokes a protective neural reflex that temporarily disrupts the abnormal pain signaling pathways, potentially providing rapid symptomatic relief through a neurological reset mechanism.

Get a slurpee from 7/11 and pound it to induce a brain freeze. Always aborts my headaches. Makes it hurt more for a second and then it subsides.

Sometimes I get a slushy. I try to give myself a brain freeze. The cold seems to help with the migraine pain.

Repeatedly giving myself brain freeze helps me when I can’t take meds. Doing it with a frozen coke helps the most and I find it helps the nausea too.
