Treatment for Cluster Headache

Headband, containing high-concentration oxygen delivered at 12-15 liters per minute, acts as an acute abortive treatment for cluster headaches by causing vasoconstriction of cerebral blood vessels and reducing neurogenic inflammation. The rapid oxygen inhalation through a non-rebreather mask helps to rapidly decrease intracranial blood flow and provides symptomatic relief by potentially modulating the trigeminal-autonomic pathway involved in cluster headache pathogenesis.
