levetiracetam
Treatment for Cluster Headache
Levetiracetam is an antiepileptic drug that modulates neurotransmitter release by binding to synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A), which may reduce neuronal hyperexcitability associated with cluster headaches. Its mechanism of action suggests potential efficacy in reducing the frequency and intensity of cluster headache attacks by stabilizing neuronal membranes and inhibiting abnormal neuronal firing patterns.
