Treatment for Cluster Headache

Oxygen therapy for cluster headache involves high-flow, high-concentration (100%) medical oxygen delivered via a non-rebreather mask at 12-15 liters per minute. The rapid inhalation of high-flow oxygen causes cerebral vasoconstriction and reduces neurogenic inflammation, which effectively interrupts the pathophysiological cascade of cluster headache attacks by modulating regional cerebral blood flow and sympathetic nervous system activation.
