mycophenolate
Treatment for Cluster Headache
Mycophenolate is an immunosuppressant that inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, thereby blocking guanosine nucleotide synthesis and suppressing T and B lymphocyte proliferation. In cluster headache treatment, it may help modulate inflammatory processes and reduce neurogenic inflammation, potentially decreasing the frequency and severity of headache attacks. Its use in cluster headache is considered off-label and primarily investigational.
