nerve ablation
Treatment for Cluster Headache
Nerve ablation for Cluster Headache involves targeted destruction of specific nerve fibers, typically the sphenopalatine ganglion or trigeminal nerve branches, using radiofrequency thermal energy or chemical agents. By interrupting neural signaling pathways associated with pain transmission and autonomic activation, the procedure aims to disrupt the neurogenic inflammatory cascade and reduce the frequency and intensity of cluster headache episodes.

I'm sorry it didn't help. My pain guy tried the block and then ablated both the greater and lesser occipital nerves on both sides. My clusters are chronic & go from side to side with a few days between the switch. Maybe that made a difference.

I had constant pain in my occipital region. Diagnosed technically as occipital neuralgia. Nerve blocks helped for only a matter of days. Radio frequency nerve ablation for the upper c-spine have been really helpful. I got a nerve stimulator 10 years ...View more

Maybe consider nerve ablation? I don't know your migraine type of course, but I was in a similar boat as you and we ended up just burning some cervical spinal nerves. It's helping so far, though not entirely. I went to a pain clinic for Botox, but go...View more
