Treatment for Cluster Headache
Over-the-counter (OTC) pain medications like ibuprofen and aspirin provide limited efficacy in cluster headache management due to their non-specific prostaglandin inhibition and systemic anti-inflammatory properties. While these medications can marginally reduce pain intensity, they do not effectively interrupt the trigeminal-autonomic pathophysiology underlying cluster headaches or provide the rapid relief needed during acute episodes.
