protriptyline
Treatment for Cluster Headache
Protriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant that acts as a potent norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, which may help modulate pain perception and neurogenic inflammation associated with cluster headaches. By blocking norepinephrine reuptake and potentially influencing serotonin and dopamine neurotransmission, protriptyline can potentially reduce the frequency and severity of cluster headache episodes through central nervous system mechanisms.

It's sorta worked out. I usually have the opposite problem, so I honestly wasn't minding not having to rush to the bathroom every five minutes. I'm o. 60mg of Qulipta and 5ng of the other med (protriptilyne, I know I'm spelling that wrong).

I take protriptyline since it’s supposed to have less side effects as far as sleepiness and weight gain. However the GI side effects are beyond what I expected. Serious constipation where I can only go with a suppository after 7-10 days. Acid reflux ...View more
