rotigotine
Treatment for Cluster Headache
Rotigotine is a non-ergot dopamine agonist that acts primarily on D2 and D3 receptors in the central nervous system, which can help modulate pain perception and neurotransmitter signaling in cluster headache. By stimulating dopaminergic pathways, rotigotine may reduce the frequency and intensity of cluster headache attacks through its neuromodulatory effects on pain processing and autonomic regulation.

Efficacy of transdermal rotigotine in chronic cluster headache: A case series
4.0
A case series study evaluated the efficacy of transdermal rotigotine (a dopamine agonist used for Parkinson's disease) in 22 drug-resistant cluster headache patients. The study found that rotigotine was effective in stopping or significantly reducing headaches in the majority of patients, with 4 out of 8 episodic cluster headache patients and 11 out of 14 chronic cluster headache patients responding to treatment.
