strength training
Treatment for Cluster Headache
Strength training for Cluster Headache potentially modulates neurological pain pathways through neuromuscular adaptations and hormonal responses, with a primary mechanism involving increased endogenous β-endorphin and serotonin release that can attenuate pain perception and neurogenic inflammation. The physical exertion and associated neuroendocrine changes may help regulate hypothalamic function and reduce the frequency and intensity of cluster headache episodes by influencing autonomic nervous system balance and pain modulation circuits.

I found I got them more from exercising when I was getting overheated (cardio). I prefer lifting now. I make sure to have a snack before I go and bring water with me. For cardio, I’ll just walk on the treadmill at an incline.

For me, I do intense weight training, but there was a time when jogging would trigger them… it was super weird and I couldn’t figure out if it was the pounding motion or what, but after a few days (not weeks), it subsided, and doesn’t happen anymore....View more
