tea tree oil
Treatment for Cluster Headache
Tea tree oil, when used for Cluster Headache, acts primarily through its potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties mediated by terpenes like terpinen-4-ol. Its mechanism involves modulating neurogenic inflammation and potentially inhibiting pain signaling pathways, though robust clinical evidence specific to cluster headaches is limited. The oil's potential therapeutic effect may be attributed to its ability to reduce localized inflammation and provide mild sensory nerve desensitization.

I keep a Vicks inhaler just for this. I have talked with other migrainers who use them to head off a migraine. Lavender or tea tree oil can also help, use a dab on each temple.
