Treatment for Cluster Headache
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for cluster headache involves applying low-voltage electrical currents to specific nerve pathways, which are believed to modulate pain perception by activating descending inhibitory pathways and disrupting pain signal transmission. The therapy may also induce local neurogenic anti-inflammatory effects and stimulate endogenous opioid release, potentially reducing the intensity and frequency of cluster headache episodes.
