Treatment for Cluster Headache

Topiramate (TMJ) is an anticonvulsant and voltage-gated sodium channel blocker that modulates neuronal excitability and reduces neurogenic inflammation in cluster headache. By stabilizing neuronal membranes and potentially inhibiting glutamate release, it decreases the frequency and intensity of cluster headache episodes through central nervous system mechanisms that attenuate pain signaling pathways.
