topical analgesic
Treatment for Cluster Headache
Topical analgesics for cluster headache typically contain counterirritants like menthol or capsaicin, which activate TRPM8 or TRPV1 receptors in peripheral sensory neurons. These agents create a cooling or burning sensation that can modulate pain perception through neurogenic inflammation and nociceptor desensitization, potentially providing temporary relief from cluster headache symptoms by interrupting pain signaling pathways.

I do the same thing, but with icy hot or some version of icy hot with lidocaine. It doesn't help, but on some level it makes me feel like I'm at least fighting back.
