Treatment for Cluster Headache
Topical NSAIDs for cluster headache work by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which reduces local prostaglandin synthesis and decreases inflammatory mediators at the application site. When applied to the temple or forehead, these medications can provide localized pain relief by reducing inflammation and blocking pain signal transmission, potentially offering symptomatic relief during cluster headache episodes.
