trigger point injection
Treatment for Cluster Headache
Trigger point injections for Cluster Headache typically involve local anesthetic agents (such as lidocaine) or corticosteroids injected into specific myofascial trigger points in the head and neck region. These injections work by interrupting neurogenic inflammation, reducing muscle tension, and modulating pain signal transmission through local anesthetic effects and potential neuromodulatory mechanisms. The primary goal is to disrupt the pain cycle, provide temporary relief, and potentially reduce the frequency and intensity of cluster headache episodes.

Last time this happened to me (21 days straight), I had to get trigger point shots in my neck and shoulder because it was occipital neuralgia and cervicogenic and was given a muscle relaxer. It was the only thing that helped.
