Treatment for Cluster Headache

Triptans are selective serotonin receptor (5-HT1B/1D) agonists that constrict cerebral blood vessels and inhibit neurogenic inflammation in the treatment of cluster headache. By binding to these receptors, they reduce pain transmission, decrease vasodilation, and provide rapid symptomatic relief during acute cluster headache episodes.
