zomitriptan

Treatment for Cluster Headache

Zolmitriptan is a selective 5-HT1B/1D receptor agonist that acts on serotonin receptors in cerebral blood vessels, causing vasoconstriction and inhibiting neurogenic inflammation. When used for cluster headache, it rapidly reduces pain by constricting cranial blood vessels and blocking pain signal transmission in the trigeminal nerve, providing quick relief from acute headache symptoms.

Try a different triptan, I got that side effect from rizatriptan and it freaked me out. I do not get it from sumatriptan but it makes me nauseous. Zero side effects from frovatriptan or zomitriptan for me.

Can you try other triptans? There's like 7 total. Sumatriptan makes me nauseous and tired but zero side effects from zomitriptan or frovatriptan for me.
