alcohol avoidance
Treatment for Visual Snow Syndrome
Alcohol avoidance in Visual Snow Syndrome is recommended due to its potential neurological depressant effects that can exacerbate cortical hyperexcitability and sensory processing abnormalities. By reducing central nervous system neurotransmitter activity, particularly GABA and glutamate signaling, alcohol may temporarily intensify visual disturbances and neurological symptoms associated with the syndrome.

I take an anxiety medication everyday and it helps immensely with my VS- I wish I didn’t need to. A healthy diet, rigorous exercise, and no alcohol are important to make life less hard.

Floaters stayed from the uveitis unfortunately. All symptoms have improved some but definitely very present. Afterimages and contrast sensitivity are still bad. No alcohol has helped a lot as well.
