cgrp antagonists
Treatment for Visual Snow Syndrome
CGRP antagonists work by blocking calcitonin gene-related peptide receptors, which are believed to play a role in neurogenic inflammation and neurovascular signaling associated with Visual Snow Syndrome. By inhibiting CGRP receptor activation, these compounds may potentially reduce neurological hyperexcitability and modulate aberrant sensory processing, potentially alleviating some visual and neurological symptoms of the syndrome.

I’m on Nortriptyline and Emgality. I use Klonopin to help with the anxiety from the vision I now have as well. The “benzos” seem to help the most. I also use riztriptyn as a rescue med if the migraines pop up.

Super interesting. I take Emgality injections every month, which trigger excess CGRP. I feel like I am so close to getting an answer, yet still so far away. Do you have memory loss as well? I also should note that I have a connective tissue disorder ...View more
