Treatment for Visual Snow Syndrome
Visual filters, such as precision-tinted glasses or specialized optical filters, are proposed to modulate cortical hyperexcitability and reduce sensory overload in Visual Snow Syndrome by selectively attenuating specific wavelengths and modifying visual processing. These filters aim to decrease aberrant neuronal signaling in the visual cortex by altering light transmission and potentially reducing thalamic-cortical dysrhythmia, thereby mitigating visual snow symptoms and perceptual disturbances.
